Scott has been a film critic at The New York Times since January, 2000.
Before joining the Times, he was Sunday book critic for Newsday, and a
member of the editorial staffs of The New York Review of Books and Lingua
Franca. His writing has appeared in Slate, The New York Review,
The New Yorker, and many other publications, and he contributes
frequently to the New York Times Magazine and Sunday Book Review..
